Help for Relationships, Depression, Anxiety, & PTSD

Real Results for Peace and Happiness

San Diego Therapist · QPRX™ Therapy

Do you find yourself struggling with anxiety? Has a relationship caused you great pain? Are you suffering from depression or trauma? I can help you rediscover your peace and well-being. I have been guiding people through life’s challenges for over 20 years, empowering them to move from emotional distress and into healthier, more fulfilling ways of thinking and living.

My passion is to help people overcome the pain of broken relationships, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I work with both individuals and couples, teaching techniques for effective communication, boundary setting, stress management, and conflict resolution. I provide tools to help clients manage emotional suffering, overcome negative thinking, feel more confident, and create more loving, fulfilling relationships.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a private psychotherapy practice in San Diego, offering a combination of clinical expertise, warmth, and approaches that go deeper than traditional talk therapy. Sessions are available in person in San Diego, and by secure video or phone throughout California.

I help many of my clients struggling with PTSD through the use of EMDR therapy, a proven method for processing and healing trauma. In addition, I have developed QPRX™, an innovative and science-based therapy that accelerates and deepens emotional healing. This groundbreaking process creates rapid shifts in perception, transforming negative belief patterns into positive ones. For those who have spent years in therapy without finding lasting relief, QPRX™ is a transformative path to quick and enduring emotional relief, guiding clients out of the pain of the past and into a place of peace and renewal.

My Counseling Specialties

Experienced in Treating the Following Conditions:

Many of my clients have tried therapy before without lasting relief. That’s often what brings them to me, and it’s exactly where my approach tends to make a difference.

If previous therapy hasn’t produced lasting change, the approach itself may be the answer, not the effort you’ve put in.

My Approach to Therapy

I draw on multiple evidence-based approaches, tailored to each client rather than applied as a one-size-fits-all method.

  • EMDR, a proven, structured treatment for trauma and PTSD that works at a neurological level. Learn more about EMDR therapy.
  • QPRX™, an innovative process I have developed that transforms negative belief patterns at their root. Learn more about QPRX™ therapy
  • Somatic awareness, body-focused techniques for how stress and trauma are held physically
  • Cognitive approaches, practical tools for identifying and shifting unhelpful thought patterns

With the combination of these approaches, particularly EMDR and QPRX™, my clients often experience meaningful change in less time than traditional talk therapy alone.

My goal isn't to help you manage symptoms indefinitely. It's to help you find relief and move forward.

Anxiety, depression, and trauma are common challenges, affecting nearly 50% of people at some point in their lives. However, there are many effective solutions for emotional relief. I am committed to helping you overcome obstacles and create balance, joy, and harmony in your life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What kind of therapist is Jill Silverman?

Short answer: I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in San Diego specializing in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, and relationship difficulties. I am trained in EMDR and have developed my own therapeutic process, QPRX™.

More detail: I work with adults dealing with a wide range of issues, from trauma and PTSD to divorce, infidelity, self-esteem, and work dissatisfaction. I combine EMDR therapy with my own QPRX™ process and somatic approaches, tailoring each treatment plan to the individual.

Q: What is QPRX™ and how is it different from regular therapy?

Short answer: QPRX™ is a therapeutic process I developed that creates rapid shifts in perception, transforming negative belief patterns at their root. It often produces faster and more lasting results than traditional talk therapy alone.

More detail: Traditional therapy typically works by building insight over time, helping clients understand why they feel the way they do. QPRX™ works differently: it targets the underlying belief structures that keep clients stuck, shifting them at a deeper level. Many clients who have spent years in therapy without lasting relief find that QPRX™, particularly in combination with EMDR, produces genuine and enduring change.

Q: Where is Jill Silverman’s therapy practice located?

Short answer: My practice is located in San Diego. I also offer video and phone sessions for clients throughout California.

More detail: The office is in San Diego, near Carmel Valley and Del Mar, with easy access from the 5 and 56 freeways. For clients who prefer not to travel, or who live further away, I offer sessions by secure video call or telephone.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

Short answer: Please contact me directly at (858) 793-2400 to discuss fees and payment options, including potential out-of-network insurance reimbursement.

More detail: My practice is private pay. However, many clients are able to use out-of-network benefits through their insurance provider. I can provide a superbill, a detailed receipt, that you can submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement. The amount reimbursed depends on your specific plan and out-of-network coverage. It’s worth contacting your insurance company to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits before your first session.

Q: What can I expect when starting therapy with Jill?

Short answer: The best starting point is a brief consultation call, so you can ask questions and get a sense of whether my approach is a good fit. The first session itself is primarily a conversation, with no pressure and nothing you have to share before you’re ready.

More detail: I use the first session to understand your situation and goals, and to give you a clearer sense of the approach I’d recommend. If you've tried therapy but continue to suffer from emotional distress, my combination of EMDR and QPRX™ may offer something you haven't encountered before.
